// Our Mission

We are part of South Worcester Life Saving & Lifeguard Club, specialising in water-based Search and Rescue and Flood Rescue. We help teach and prepare young people to stay safe in water while maintaining operational readiness for flood emergencies.

Flood Response

On-call teams responding to flooding emergencies, rescuing people trapped by rising waters.

Swiftwater Rescue

Specially trained to perform rescues in fast-moving water using specialised techniques and equipment.

Emergency Coordination

Working alongside emergency services to provide specialist SAR and Flood Rescue capability.

100% Volunteer

Entirely volunteer-run organisation with a National Tactical Advisor within our team.

Water Safety Education

Part of South Worcester Life Saving & Lifeguard Club, teaching young people to stay safe in water.

Our Operational History

Since 2012, SWFR has deployed to major flood events across England, saving 532 lives and assisting over 3,000 people.

2012

Midlands

Initial deployment supporting flood-affected communities across the Midlands region.

2014

South Worcester

MASHA deployment for South Worcester (Operation Nemo) - major regional flooding response.

2015

North West

Deployed to the North West to support severe flooding operations.

2019

National Standby

Placed on standby by National Resilience for potential nationwide deployment.

2021

South West Region

Responded to flooding across the South West Region.

2022

Midlands

Return deployment to the Midlands during autumn flooding events.

2023

Shropshire

Deployed to Shropshire for flood rescue and welfare support operations.
